Artist Statement
I grew up in Utah. My paintings are created using oil paint on panels, which are
layered in bold brushstrokes, vital palette knife work, and vibrant colors that are
often sanded down or scraped to show paint underlays. In doing so, I aim to
capture the landscape and the passage of time in the western region, as well as
correct unwanted marks and create a feeling of nostalgia and a connection
to the American West.
